THEME: ENTREPRENEURS AS REFORMERS

FOCUS OF 3RD EDITION

YOUNG NIGERIAN ENTREPRENEURS MUST NOT MISS OUT OF THE COMING 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION

In the coming months, business transactions worth of billions of dollars will be done via cloud. Nobody is interested in your locations; only how visible you are on the global cloud – internet. The understanding of Artificial Intelligence is keen for every young entrepreneur who want to be on the seat when the global market dinner table is served. Knowledge, Skillset and Positioning will be vital for business growth and we must ensure Nigeria does not miss out of the coming 4IR.

The speed and measure of the changes coming about by the fourth industrial revolution are not to be ignored. These changes will bring about shifts in power, shifts in wealth, and knowledge. Only in being knowledgeable about these changes and the speed in which this is occurring can we ensure that advances in knowledge and technology reach all and benefit all.

The first industrial revolution started in 1760 with the invention of the steam engine. The steam engine allowed the transition from farming and feudal society to the new manufacturing process. This transition included the use of coal as the main energy while trains were the main means of transportation. Textile and steel were the dominant industries in terms of employment, value of output, and capital invested. The second industrial revolution began in 1900 with the invention of the internal combustion engine. This led to an era of rapid industrialization using oil and electricity to power mass production. The third industrial revolution started in 1960 and was characterized with the implementation of electronics and information technology to automate production. Under the old ways, making things involved screwing or welding lots of parts together. The fourth industrial revolution now involves computer generated product design and three dimensional (3D) printing, which can create solids object by building up successive layers of materials.

THE FOCUS OF 3RD EDITION TO HELP YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS IS ON OUR CHOICE OF SPEAKERS

The coming industrial revolutions will be harsh on businesses that are not S.T.E.M compliance. We must get knowledge and acquire required skills to stay relevant. By the way, S.T.E.M stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The question is how do you operate a business that will have STEM inscribed on the fabrics of operations? That is what 100 Young CEOs 3rd Edition set out to unraveled with experienced, well-traveled and well-established entrepreneurs to speak on various subjects that will help position your business in place of maximum benefit. And attendance is FREE.

With all these in minds, 100 Young CEOs Forum 3rd Edition will focus majorly on how young Nigeria Entrepreneurs can drive Nigeria economy using the innovative S.T.E.M method in productions, marketing and sales. Business has gone beyond a systematic buying and selling methodology. The new market demands easy connection between seller and buyer. Therefore, the third edition theme: “Entrepreneurs as Reformers” was clearly thought out to create new armies of young entrepreneurs who understand the demands of the new market and how to penetrate to gain maximum share of the market. We are transiting from the era of “talks” to “doing” and to achieve this, we are not going to wait for everybody, just the few who are ready.

THERE IS NEED TO TACKLE THE ISSUE OF FUNDING FOR SMEs TO COMPETE AT THE ERA OF 4IR

With strategic and critical thinking approach, I have decided to take on of the major challenges facing young Nigeria Entrepreneur. The challenges are enormous and I have taken keen consideration at the area of funding. I have decided that in the next coming months, we will create consortium of young entrepreneurs to raise $1 million dollar in excess cash for brilliant business ideas in 2020 alone. The model to achieve this has been clearly penned down and designed to partner with key financial institutions and government parastatals to help SMEs especially those that are located within our rural environments as this will open up new developments opportunities for most of states that are not yet operating at their full potentials.

URGENT NEEDS TO DEVELOP OUR RURAL COMMUNITY

The coming 4IR will be shift and harsh on unprepared community especially in a country where our attentions are always on the city. We must do well to ensure our villages are well informed. In this coming era, Africa is on the dinner table because the world need our resources to survive and for us to enjoy the maximum of offering the world sustainability, we must be well informed with the right skill set. So, our youth should be trained to appreciate the value of the resources available at every community. It is only in understanding that clear application of knowledge can be achieved. There is need for few elites to come together and develop individual village without seeking glory or waiting on the government. Opening up development work in our rural areas will create new belief systems among the young of affected areas and at the same time create development that is needed for our rural community to stay relevant in the era of 4IR.

THE FIRST TWO EDITIONS IMPACT

We have held the first two editions of the forum. The first edition was held on March 23, 2019, at Center for Tech, Ogba, Lagos with the theme: “Projecting the Nigeria Brands” for exclusively 100 entrepreneurs with five professionals’ facilitators. Executive Secretary of Lagos State Employment Trust Fund and others speak on various topics on how to create enabling environment for Start-ups and tips on how to create winning brands as Start-ups.

BUILD UP TO THE THIRD EDITION

However, it is my job to ensure, we raise armies of entrepreneurs who are not only concerned on how to make sales but who will also be passionate enough to ensure Nigeria feet is planted on the road that lead to growth and relevance in the era that demands so much than we are offering at the moment.

Our job will also, require partnership with both private companies, as well as stakeholders, not leaving our government agencies and local government official to achieve this feat that will lead us to create a framework for national wealth creation.

This is possible when we all work together.

Join us and let us make this happen now.

The date is November 30th, 2019, the venue is Tayo Aderinokun Lecture Theater, University of Lagos and the time is 10:00am. I will be glad to have you join us to make history.

Sincerely,

Taiwo Peace Oyeniyi
